Hard to believe that June is here! Seems like just a month ago I was watching the last of the snow melt & already it’s time to think about mulching tomatoes!!! In your shares this week are a couple of seasonal specialties: Asparagus… need I say more? & Garlic Scapes (those curly cue green things most of you are not familiar with. Try using them as you would garlic of just quickly sautéed). As your farmer two things I try to do is,
- Bring you the freshest staples of produce your familiar to
- Offer unique items to get you to try something new. It makes if fun for all of us while also bringing out your creativity at the dinner table.
In the last week we’ve begun to raise a new brood of meat chickens that will be ready in August, Begun our 4th planting of leaf lettuce & we are beginning to see strawberries slowly ripen along with snap peas & red beets. Looking forward to sharing with you all we’re growing & doing on the Farm!
